July 2011: Seedlings growing towards the sun
The Rose Project has taken on a morph of sort this year. With so many changes in the world, the treadmill is out of vogue. Running in place and not getting anywhere is insane. As Thomas Edison said, “Vision without execution is hallucination” Man, I have so felt that way this last year. Ideas I had for development of communities and healthcare have been met with resistance. This vision has brought people to places they never knew existed within them. Anger, fear, and territorial feelings have risen to a boiling point. When this occurs, the best thing to do, is duck and run. Fallout is unnecessary to absorb. The owners of such spewing should have to clean up their own mess. There have been many healthcare declarations on so many sides of the stories, it is impossible to tell the truth. Bottom line, the people are in a quandry. Those needing services, those providing services and those who negotiate or rule for these services. So, who really are the ‘people’ that every one has to defend?? AAhhhh………. the quandry. AAhhhh………. the solution. This is a truly difficult place to be this past year. There is so much bickering the puzzle has lost its face and the pieces are bitten off at the ends. Will this ever work? How can it? The slow rise to help those that ask, to share with those our knowledge, and our feelings is the only way to raise the flag of surrender. Take up your pole and start to design your flag. Be colorful and caring in your vision. Time, tic, toc, tic, toc, how loud is your clock in your head to raise your flag? We will be there, to ask and for those that ask… for help and support. Join the waving of the flag.
March 2010: Seeds spew on fertile soil
The Rose Project, under the direction of Dr. Jeanette Gallagher, develops plans for people and communities to work together for their common good. All too often, government or big groups make plans that serve their needs first and the people last with what is left. A project that may be estimated to cost $30 million, may actually only cost 1/3 of that for the project itself with the balance for administrative, regulatory or research costs. In other words, overhead. Amidst the economic downturn, running a business or household has become a ritual of decreasing overhead. This still does not change the way people think about each other and interact to a large degree. Hurricanes, floods, and economic depressions have slightly opened hearts and hands, but did you ever notice how it is great to give to people and causes that are so far away from you and you do not have to interact with them daily? It is great to give to Haiti, South America, etc, but can you change your thoughts and actions right there in your own back yard? Don’t stop giving, but start to learn. Learn how to do things differently, how to inspire others to make changes, create plans that support many people and love doing it. Make it a mission, a plan. This project is a vision, a creation in flux, which develops a fundamental basis of compassion, nurturing, sustainable and green community. Share your thoughts, your business and your plans to help create this Project.
